Getting Married at Jade Mountain, Soufrière
Jade Mountain is one of the most photographed hotels in the Caribbean, and it offers one of the few wedding programmes where the couple choose the place after they arrive.
A wedding with no fixed programme
Jade Mountain does not have a wedding chapel. Instead, each ceremony is planned with the couple, who can add their own vows to the civil ceremony. Only one wedding takes place each day, which keeps the grounds quiet and the staff focused on you. Read our Jade Mountain resort guide for the architecture and the sanctuaries, and our Anse Chastanet guide for the sister resort that shares the estate.
Ceremony places include the Celestial Terrace, which has a 360 degree view of the Pitons and has been used twice as the final rose location in The Bachelor (United States and United Kingdom). Others are the Anse Chastanet and Anse Mamin beaches, the old colonial plantation at Anse Mamin with its eighteenth century remains, a guest sanctuary for a private elopement, the coral reef, a waterfall and the resort's boats.

Published wedding packages
Jade Mountain publishes three packages that can be added to any room reservation. The prices below were published in US dollars and are shown in pounds, and were seen in October 2026 on the resort's wedding packages page. Prices change with the season and the exchange rate, so ask the resort or your travel agent to confirm the current figure in writing before you pay a deposit.
- Elope to Paradise, £1,715note: the Justice of the Peace, registrar, licence, marriage certificate and all legal fees, a wedding planner, messenger service for documents, witnesses if required, a choice of locations on the estate including the Celestial Terrace, decoration with an optional arch or chuppah, a bouquet, a button hole for the groom, a wedding cake, a bottle of champagne and a decorated dinner table for the couple.
- The Great Escape, £2,540note: everything in Elope to Paradise, plus standard photography, videography and a private champagne sunset cruise.
- The Ultimate Escape, £3,700note: everything in Elope to Paradise, plus diamond photography, videography, a private champagne sunset cruise, a top to toe spa package for both of you, ceremony entertainment from a steel band duo or a solo guitarist, a wedding gift and embroidered bed linen for the wedding night.
Groups, ages and stay lengths
Most wedding groups at Jade Mountain number between 8 and 36 guests. Dining venues at Jade Mountain itself are limited to 36, rising to 60 with a full resort buy-out of its 24 pool sanctuaries and five sky whirlpool suites. For up to about 100 guests, the Anse Chastanet venues host the larger celebrations. The resort asks for a minimum stay of three days for wedding guests and five nights for the couple, and it expects at least half of the guests to stay on the estate.
Jade Mountain has strict minimum age rules, so check the resort's frequently asked questions before inviting children. A group of five or more rooms, including your own, earns a complimentary guaranteed room upgrade for the couple.
Paperwork and church weddings
The resort prepares the legal documents before you arrive from a questionnaire and copies of your passports or birth certificates. Originals must be shown on the island, and it asks for at least two business days to process the application after arrival. Against a government rush fee, a wedding can be processed within 24 hours. Our marriage requirements guide sets out the full list.
A Catholic church wedding can also be arranged, but it needs at least three months of planning with your home parish priest and the Archbishop in Saint Lucia.
Independent reviews
Jade Mountain is rated 10 out of 10 on Booking.com from 38 guest reviews, with the score shown on the KAYAK listing in October 2026. The sample is small, so read it as a strong signal rather than a precise measure. For comparison, the neighbouring Sugar Beach has several hundred reviews.
What is it like to stay at Jade Mountain in Saint Lucia?
Staying at Jade Mountain in Saint Lucia feels like living inside the view, because each sanctuary is open on one side to the Pitons and the Caribbean Sea, with a private infinity pool in most of them and a bridge leading to your door. The resort was designed by its owner-architect, Nick Troubetzkoy, in an organic style that lets stone columns and rooflines blend into the hillside above the Anse Chastanet estate. The result is a place that photographs well but also feels remarkable in person, with the sound of birds, the breeze and the changing light all becoming part of your room. Many guests say they stop noticing where the room ends and the landscape begins.
Because the walls are partly open, the weather and the hours become part of the stay. Mornings begin early with the sun, afternoons suit lazy swims in your own pool and evenings are best spent on the terrace watching the sky change. The sanctuaries have names such as Galaxy, Sun, Moon and Star, and a few Sky Whirlpool Suites offer a different layout with a whirlpool rather than a private pool, so ask which type suits your plans before booking. Pack light layers for the evenings and a rain jacket for the occasional shower. Ask for photographs of the exact sanctuary you are offered, because the layouts differ and the best view is worth requesting when you book.
It is not a place for everyone. Anyone who needs full air-tight walls, a lively resort scene or flat ground should think twice, as the estate is steep and the style is deliberately open. For couples who want privacy, design and a sense of retreat, it remains one of the most distinctive hotels in Saint Lucia, and one of the few places where architecture is as memorable as the view. Our Jade Mountain resort guide covers the sanctuaries in more detail, and it is worth reading before you choose between them. Talk through your priorities with the reservations team, including privacy, pool size and the walk to dinner, and ask for written confirmation of the category you are offered.
Where do you eat and relax at Jade Mountain and Anse Chastanet?
At Jade Mountain, you eat at the Jade Mountain Club beside its colourful infinity pool, drink sunset cocktails on the Celestial Terrace, and can also use the restaurants at the sister resort of Anse Chastanet, which shares the same estate in Soufrière. The Jade Mountain Club serves a modern Caribbean style of cooking by the chef Allen Susser, and the terrace is also where many couples choose to watch the stars come out. Private dining and culinary events add further options for a special evening, and the staff are used to arranging a table for two in an unusual spot. Tell the team about your wedding or anniversary when you book, and about any dietary needs, so that the menu can be shaped around you before you arrive.
The estate has some unusual extras. A Chocolate Lab gives guests a hands-on introduction to cocoa, Emerald Farm lets you see where some of the produce is grown, and cooking classes can be arranged. These details link the resort to the island's farming heritage and make good rainy-day plans, particularly for couples who enjoy learning something new together. Our guide to fine dining and champagne has more ideas for a celebration meal, whether for a wedding night or an anniversary, and for choosing wines to match the island's flavours. A tasting menu on the first night is a good way to learn what the kitchen does best, and it leaves the remaining evenings free to try the other venues on the estate.
Wellness is built into the days. The Kai en Ciel Spa offers treatments, there are in-sanctuary options, and yoga is offered at sunrise and sunset. Combine that with a morning swim and a long lunch and you have a gentle rhythm that suits a honeymoon in Saint Lucia. The resort also publishes its sustainability credentials and runs an organic farm, which matters to guests who like to know that their stay supports the local community and landscape. Ask the concierge which activities suit the weather on your dates. Book spa treatments and yoga sessions on arrival, because the most popular times, such as sunset, tend to fill early in the busy months, especially around holidays.
What can you do around Jade Mountain besides the wedding?
Around Jade Mountain in Soufrière you can dive or snorkel on the reef, hike through rainforest, visit the Botanical Gardens and Sulphur Springs, or kayak and bike on the estate's trails, with the concierge arranging excursions. The estate has an extensive network of walking and mountain biking trails through forest, and a PADI dive operation serves the reef below. This makes the resort a good choice for couples who want privacy but also an adventure or two, and who like to return to a quiet room at the end of an active day. Ask the concierge to match the activities to your fitness and the weather, and to arrange equipment, guides and transport so that each outing feels easy rather than organised.
A day afloat is a good plan, because the Pitons look different from the sea. Our sailing and boat trips guide explains the choices, and for those who prefer the water below the surface, diving and snorkelling shows what the coast offers. A visit to Soufrière town adds a taste of local life, with a market, a waterfront and the scent of cocoa and spice. Go in the morning, when the streets are busy and the light is kind, and leave time for lunch. Wear comfortable shoes and take a hat, as the streets have little shade at midday, and ask your driver to suggest a place to eat where local people go themselves.
For another view of the same landscape, compare the hillside setting of Ladera, which sits on a ridge between the Pitons, and read about spa rituals and mud baths before you choose your treatments. Combine a few days here with a few days in the north if you want contrast, and talk to your agent about how to split the time sensibly between the two regions. A short stay in each often gives a fuller picture of the island than a single long stay in one place. Ask your agent to price the combination, including the road transfer between regions, so that you can see whether the extra variety fits your budget and your energy.
The landscape around Jade Mountain
Few ceremonies come with a view like this, and it helps to know what you are looking at. Geology and volcanoes tells the story of the Pitons and the land beneath them, while rainforest and plant life describes the forest beside the resort.
